Heath Ceramics Fall 2017 Sale and Open Studio. November 17 to 19, 2017.

Just in time for the start of holiday entertaining (and gift giving), Heath Ceramics Fall 2017 Sale and Open Studio brings you 20% off all in-store purchases. Plus enjoy factory and studio tours, workshops, and good eats.

Prepare to experience bowl, plate, and cup joy.

Heath Ceramics’ products are beautiful, functional, and definitely drool-worthy (especially considering the cost – ouch.) If you love (and who doesn’t) the simple aesthetic, saturated colors, and clean lines that are the hallmark of Heath Ceramics but find the cost prohibitive put the Heath Ceramics Fall 2017 Sale and Open Studio on your must do list.

From November 17 -19, 2017 all in store purchases at the Heath Ceramics’ Sausalito and  the 18th Street San Francisco locations are 20% off regular retail. In addition, on the weekend each location has tours, DIY workshops, and good eats for purchase.

*Pesky Fine Print:

  • The sale is only three days (November 17 to 19) and only  in participating stores. The non-participating locations are the Ferry Building Marketplace, Heath Newsstand, and the Boiler Room. Unlike prior years, there is no online sale.
  • The discount cannot be combined with any other offers and is limited to stock on hand.
  • There is no discount on tile orders, except for overstock in Sausalito. In addition the following items are also full price: rugs, Nomad furniture, Stan Bitters planters and pendants, concreteworks planters, holiday items, and online purchases for Virtual Registries.
  • There are no exchanges during the sale period.

12 Tips For Shopping Heath Ceramics Fall 2017 Sale and Open Studio:

  1. Reserve tours and workshops NOW. Both the San Francisco and Sausalito locations have a great line up of tours, workshops, and eats. Click here to see the full schedule of events and classes. Some activities require reservations/payment, so if you’re interested, be sure to RSVP early and review the fine print.
  2. Sausalito Showroom Has Seconds.  Since even at sale prices this line is expensive don’t hesitate to check out the seconds, samples, discontinued merch, and one-of-a-kind prototypes for even greater savings. These items are usually 30% off, but during the Annual Sale they are an additional 20% off! Many of the discounted dinnerware that did not meet Heath Ceramics’ first quality standards are in near perfect condition. That said carefully inspect each piece – defects vary from slightly uneven glaze to chipped edges. Make sure you can live with the imperfection. Note: only available at the Sausalito Factory and Showroom.
  3. Timing is everything. Come early if you want first dibs. Especially if you want to purchase seconds since the sale is limited to stock on hand. Deal Trackers line up long before the doors open at 10 am. Weekends are crazier and the lines are longer so if possible go on Friday.
  4. Good to know Logistic tips(a) Budget 2+ hours. Based on earlier Heath sales expect to spend about 45 minutes shopping. Expect the rest of your budgeted time will go to waiting in line. There is a (long) line outside to get in and a (long) line to checkout. Ugh.  (b) All sales are final. (c) During the sale you cannot do returns and/or exchanges, or Virtual Registry gift purchases at either the Sausalito or San Francisco showroom.
  5. Build your collection: If you love what you see but can not afford every piece you want, consider buying a few pieces at a time and build your collection.
  6. Gift giving: Heath Ceramics are the perfect engagement/wedding gift. And holiday gift. And gift to your self, just because you deserve it…
  7. Overstock tile. Interested in the coveted overstock tile?  Check out the overstock list (updated every Friday) to see what you can expect to find at the sale.
  8. SF EatsTartine Manufactory shares the SF Heath Ceramic space. Get pumped up on to die for carbs, awesome caffeine, and other amazing Tartine eats to numb the pain of paying for your fabulous Heath purchases.
  9. SF Store Parking Info: Limited parking is available for Heath San Francisco customers in the parking bays on the Florida Street side of the building (at the corner of 18th Street.) Customers can also use the parking spaces to the right of Heath’s shipping and receiving bay, in the bays marked overhead as 3 and 4. If those spots are full (ah, duh) there is street parking for those with karma.
  10. Bring a friend. Take turns shopping and waiting in line. Help each other make smart choices.
  11. Maintenance.  Use Bar Keepers Friend to keep your fabulous new Heath ceramics looking good as new.
  12. Heath Alternative. If you find the price tag too high even at these sale prices consider a trip to IKEA. I know this sounds sacrilegious but IKEA has a line that does a pretty good job knocking off Heath Ceramic’s simple shapes, muted colors and matt glaze. Admittedly not the same but way easier on your wallet. Get an 18-piece dinnerware set for $34.99. This is less than the full retail price of a single Heath Ceramic plate. Sigh.
